Every year without fail I find Praying Mantis hiding among the plumeria, usually around the inflos ready to ambush their prey. These wonderful and very interesting insects are not only fun to watch in the garden but they are also very beneficial to your plants.

Praying mantis are voracious carnivores that will feast on insects such as aphids, grasshoppers, leafhoppers, mosquitos, caterpillars, flies and many other pests we may not want on our prized plants.

The praying mantis therefore is a welcome guest around our plumeria, hibiscus and other Tropical plants devouring garden pests with their lightening fast reflexes. Enjoy the video below of a Mantis grooming itself on a ‘Sorcery’ Plumeria Leaf.
